- 8:00 pm - 11:00 pm
- Neo Cafe & Eatery, 132 Willis St, Wellington
Get ready, it’s happening. The cafe’s been booked and everyone’s invited. We’re gathering to keep the fire of creativity burning! So come along and bring something to share. It might be original or it might be a rendition. It’s a celebration of creativity and we believe everyone has creative potential within. So why not take a shot at writing, drawing, singing, playing, making, dancing…doing something and sharing it with us. Take a risk with us!
This soiree will double as a fundraiser for Make Foundation. This Wellington-based charity exists to bring creative projects to Syrian children living in refugee camps in Lebanon. One of the ways they do this is through work in local schools, sharing the stories of former refugees and inviting the children to respond in some creative form e.g. music, art, stories and more. Funds are then raised for similar creative workshops in refugee camps, which nourish the soul and inspire hope.
Money raised at this soiree will go towards scholarships for 5 promising refugee children to attend lessons to develop their talents. Check out their Facebook page for more info on the Make Foundation
Along with the usual BYO beverages (non alcoholic) and nibbles that people bring to share, there will also be pumpkin pie and mulled wine, specially made for this occasion, available for a koha.
So come along! Bring your creative pieces, a plate of food to share, or just yourselves. Open to everyone!
