Our weekly Sunday gatherings rotate between our evening gathering and all-age gathering at the Brooklyn Anglican building, 96 Washington Ave. Each gathering emphasises a different aspect of our community.
Join us as we worship authentically, ask hard questions, hear an inspiring message from the Scriptures, and connect with others who are on a journey following Jesus and to inspire love in our city.
At Mosaic, we think church should be both fun and sacred. Both energetic and contemplative. Both innovative and ancient. Both relevant and deep. Through creative storytelling, song, and artful expression, we create a space for people to engage with God. We are charismatic in our openness to the work of the Holy Spirit, and liturgical in our worship rhythms. No matter where you are in your spiritual journey, you belong here.
Wrestling with Wonder the parables of Jesus
Why the parables?
There is something disturbing about the parables. At times they can feel like an attack. Perhaps John from Revelation may have been thinking of them when he thought of painting the image of Jesus with a sword coming out of his mouth. But these swords are more like a garden instrument – which seeks to prepare the soil for life.
Jesus when asked why he teaches in parables responded, “That’s why I tell stories: to create readiness, to nudge the people toward receptive insight. In their present state they can stare till doomsday and not see it, listen till they’re blue in the face and not get it.” Ultimately our hope is that these stories lead us to wonder.
To again re-imagine what our lives in Jesus look like.
We invite you to join us on the journey.
