On our website we have a dynamic Google powered calendar which you can add to most online-enabled calendar services. However, for those of us who like tangible things, we have a download-able version of the Sunday Gathering calendar for you. Our Sunday gathering starts at 5pm at Crossways (this is subject to change though - what can I say but we like to spice things up - and this is why we have a calendar :P)
Set it as your desktop background or print it out to put on your fridge.
Thanks Sheshe for the design help

For the last 6 months the Ladder Project team has been investigating how ordinary Kiwis can have a lasting impact on addressing (and reducing) poverty in NZ and aboard.
Phase one of the project is nearly complete and we are celebrating. While we are at it, we want to take the opportunity to help out others.
This will also be a special night as we are doubling our party as a fund-raiser with all proceeds going to help flood victims in the Philippines. Tickets $15 each.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

New Location For Sunday Gathering

Mosaic @ New Crossways Community Center
Upstairs, 6 Roxburgh St, Mt Victoria, Wellington
With much excitement I get to promote the first gathering at our new Sunday location, The New Crossways Community Center in Mt Vic (otherwise simply known as Crossways). Our first gathering in the new space will be Sunday 4th of October 2009 from 5-7pm. (See our Gatherings page for more other gatherings)
So what is this gathering about?
Mosaic meets as a whole community in two different ways. First we meet every Sunday for stories, food and good conversation. Secondly, we meet every fortnight on a Wednesday to delve into the mystery of Scripture and to probe what it means to live as Jesus did (you can read more about each of our gatherings here).
Until now we have met in homes and shared a meal together, but we have now become too large to all fit and give everyone a seat. So in order for there to be more room for others to join in (maybe you?), we have found ourselves a new place we can hopefully translate our Sunday gathering to.
What to expect
Our Sunday gathering will be much the same as it was - an informal affair with a delicious selection of finger food and the opportunity to hear some stories shared about what the Mosaic Community is about. Each Sunday evening will be loosely structured around a core idea which will guide the evening. There will also be the chance for people within the Mosaic community to express their creativity through forms like spoken word poetry and original music.
Can I come?
Simple answer is Yes!. The long answer is yes and bring your friends too! Our Sunday gathering is geared to suit anyone who is interested in listening to some stories, tasting excellent food, and contributing to good conversation. No expectation of your participation is made - we will be priviledged to share your company for the evening.
If you would like to come, get in touch via the details on our Contact Us page or see our Calendar for event info.

123 = 1000 For NZ Red Cross
This event has been postponed.
Thanks to all of you for expressing an interest in helping the New Zealand Red Cross out!
Unfortunately it turns out that Watchmen is not such a great fit for us as a vehicle to get behind the New Zealand Red Cross.
Due to the level of brutal violence presented in the film, we have come to the conclusion that both Red Cross and Mosaic could be better represented by a different film. The Watchmen film does have its merits, however its not the best fit for this project.
We have decided to postpone the fundraiser until another film has been selected.
We are now looking to the future and the films coming out soon to take another go at raising some much needed funds for New Zealand Red Cross and we hope to engage with you on the choice of film.
Thanks heaps for your support, we will keep you up-to-date with any other changes.
Mosaic is hosting a charity screening of “Watchmen” to raise money for New Zealand Red Cross. New Zealand Red Cross is part of the largest humanitarian organisation in the world, helping people wherever they might be - internationally or in our own communities. Mosaic want to get behind them and encourage Kiwis to buy a ticket to a movie, enjoy a night out, and best of all, give to those in need. If we sell all the tickets to the private screening we will make $1000 to give to an organisation that truly tries to save the world every day. 123 equals 1000.
An adaptation of Alan Moore’s landmark comic book series, Watchmen is a story set in an alternative 1985, where the world is ticking closer to the brink of nuclear war, and a plot to eliminate a band of ex-crimefighters is instigated. Early reviews are calling it a breathtaking yet brutal take on the graphic novel, “the amazing cinematic achievement we have been waiting for . . . since, well, “The Dark Knight!”. Watchmen is not a story for kids, it is definitely R16, so please do not buy a ticket for anyone under this age.
The screening begins at 8:15pm (seating from 8pm), Sunday 15 March, Reading Cinemas Courtenay Central. Contact Adam (mosaicwgtn@gmail.com) to arrange ticket purchase and pickup.
Tickets cost $19.00.
So round up your mates and commit to a great night out for a great cause. If we sell more that 123 tickets they will give us a larger cinema, so go hard!
Noche Beuna

Its Christmas and time to celebrate.
This year we’re celebrating Cuban style. The Cuban Christmas is a time to celebrate life with good food, good music, and love - things we value highly in Mosaic.
Let us set the scene for you….
The party kicks off at 3pm and will go late into the evening. It’s totally up to you when you want to come and join us.
It’ll be a relaxed afternoon/evening with buffet style food to help yourselves to throughout the party. We will be dining in true Cuban style with the ‘main event’ being the serving of the rotisserie pig!
The music will surely make you want to ’shake your bonbon shake your bonbon’, so to quench your thirst (from all the relaxing&dancing..)..there will be a bar serving Mojtos and other tasty drinks.
To entertain there will be boardgames and cards scattered over the tables to sit down & play… and later in the evening we will have a Pinata (!!) and games for the kids.
So put on your Summer party clothes, grab your family and friends and come and join us to celebrate Noche Buena!
Party! Party! Party!
At the end of October we say goodbye (but hopefully only for a while) to two of our tribe, Justin and Lacey. They’re off back home to the States to get married. So, while we still have have them, we’re going to party like its ‘99 and send them off in style.
This Saturday, 18th October @ Thistle Hall, Cuba St, MT Cook. 8pm. Dress nice - its a special occasion.
