Forty (a lent reflection by Justin Blass):
Forty days of barren womb
waking, sleeping, dreaming constant static
Silence caring out your mind
consumed in the vacuum’s panic
Were you present here now
Discovering songs in the sand
Or starve for his sound
left only a hollow man

On our website we have a dynamic Google powered calendar which you can add to most online-enabled calendar services. However, for those of us who like tangible things, we have a download-able version of the Sunday Gathering calendar for you. Our Sunday gathering starts at 5pm at Crossways (this is subject to change though - what can I say but we like to spice things up - and this is why we have a calendar :P)
Set it as your desktop background or print it out to put on your fridge.
Thanks Sheshe for the design help
New DNA Series @ Crossways

We have just finished our first series at our new Sunday venue, New Crossways Community Centre, 6 Roxburgh St, Mt Vic. Our first series looked at our five core values which, for the Mosaic community, are both aspirational and foundational. Our next series begins this week and looks at the DNA of our community. Or in others words, this series will look at the three aspects that shape Mosaic’s vision, values, and mission. Our DNA is FAITH. HOPE. LOVE.
Join us on Sunday @ Crossways from 5pm for stories, food and conversation.
For more info on the gatherings go here.
To get in contact with someone, see our contact page here.
Are you there?
So this whole social networking things is blowing up huge - did you that the most engaged activity on the internet is social networking! Crazy eh.
So we have joined the party and can now be found on both Twitter and Facebook. Hopefully this means that Mosaic’s events and happenings are conveniently accessible if you don’t have time to check the website frequently. You’ll also get the chance to jump in on our online conversation if you feel so inclined.

Giving to live
There is a lake in the middle of a desert. You would think that it would be the source of life for all that surrounds it, but there is nothing there.
The environment is bland; the lake has no fish at all.
It is dead.
The place is called the Dead Sea.
The Dead Sea’s lack of life is brought on by one simple fact - the water does not flow out. With this, all the natural sediments that would normally give life build up to a level which is literally toxic, doing the complete opposite to what is intended.
Humanity is like this too. If we live for our selfish desires and do not give to something more than ourselves we become toxic. We may live, but many times the life we live is unhealthy, and it isn’t at maximum drive and energy.
The healthy giver is then like a river that flows out and gives life to those around it. It gives energy to the surrounding valleys. It does not stagnant. The healthy giver realises that they have a bigger purpose. Their streams bring life and health to those around. As we practice giving, we practice living as healthier people.

Another yeah ha is over a new yeah ha to come. Keep your eye to our calendar to see what we are up.
